Transforming a Listed School into Upscale Residences
Introduction: In the Neckar Valley, a listed school building was carefully transformed into upscale residential units. Our steel construction scope included the design and erection of multiple balcony towers as well as delicate all-metal railings.
Challenges: Because the building is under historical protection, any alteration to the existing structure had to be minimal. Additionally, the tight space both inside and on the façade demanded highly precise installation procedures.
Solution: Custom steel platforms and supports enabled us to securely attach the multi-story balcony towers, each up to 21 m², to the façade. The all-metal railings were meticulously fitted on-site to preserve the building’s heritage appearance.
Result: The new balconies and loggias significantly enhance both functionality and aesthetics without compromising the building’s original character. Future residents benefit from spacious outdoor areas, while the historic charm of the structure is maintained.
